Ansley Park

Just east of Piedmont Park, Ansley Park is a central Atlanta neighborhood marked with a rich historical past and wondrous homes. From Colonial-Revival to Craftsmen-style, Ansley Park real estate reflects the past of the area and lends architectural appeal to the streets. Homes for sale sit on large lots, away from the roads, with stretching yards. The neighborhood was designed to have a wide streets for cars, and sidewalks allow for walking traffic. As well, each and every home in Ansley Park is within a 10 minute walk to one of the community’s parks, including Winn and McClatchy Parks.

Nestled on the western side of Piedmont Park, Ansley Park homes for sale are architectural gems in a natural landscape. Craftsman, Queen Anne, and other types of homes aren’t hard to find along these curvy streets. With so many park access points, it’s also easy to visit the community’s green space. The real estate market for Ansley Park is as diverse as the architecture: higher density housing can be found in the form of apartments, condos, and townhomes. Newer homes in the area also reflect the 100-year history of the community by adopting the styles typical to Ansley Park. Landscaping and parks are such an integral part of the community that the Ansley Park Civic Association has created the Beautification Foundation. The foundation promotes intelligent use of space, maintains the landscapes, and raises funds for new projects. These include new playgrounds and park features.

Ansley Park got its start in 1904, after Edwin P. Ansley purchased the land and began development. Over its more than a century residence in Atlanta, the community has seen many changes, yet the homes still ring true of the early days. Large granite blocks line sidewalks, where they were used to mount horses. No longer standing is the former residence of Ansley, which in turn became the Governor’s residence for a number of years.
